See it on a real job

From the roof to the approved report, in 90 seconds

And on every job

More it does for you.

  • The Cx comment lands on the reading

The reviewer taps one reading. The tech sees the note on that exact field, fixes it, and it is approved.

  • Your report, your look

Pick Clean, Letterhead or Bold in the report design studio. Every report, and every sheet from the library, prints that way.

  • Checks you control

Turn any check on or off, change its limits, or add your own standards. They suggest; they never block. More

  • Ask Claude or ChatGPT

Connect StartupSend to your AI assistant and ask about your jobs in plain words. It sees only what your role can see. More

  • Signal drops? Nothing is lost.

Lose signal mid-form and what the tech has typed stays on the phone, then saves the moment the signal comes back.

  • Nothing falls through

Partial visits and open issues land on the job's Come back for list, each with its reason. More

Paper against the phone

Paper makes three people do one job.

Most startup sheets still go like this: print a blank, fill it by hand on the roof, carry it back, type it into Excel, build the PDF. Every hand-off loses a reading. The phone skips all of it.

On paperSix hand-offs

Weeks, and it still comes back

  1. Print a blank sheetOften last year's version
  2. Fill it by hand on the roofGloves off, readings skipped
  3. Carry it back in the truckCoffee rings, lost pages
  4. The office types it inGuessing at handwriting
  5. Someone builds the PDFFormatting it all again
  6. The Cx provider sends it backBlanks, no signature

  3. The Cx provider gets the PDFComplete, signed, on your letterhead

In the field

Easier than the clipboard. Even with gloves on.

One thing at a time, big targets, and it always shows what's left. The spreadsheet smarts work in the background, so the tech never has to think about them.

Big buttons, made for gloves

Yes, No and N/A are one tap each. Readings open the number pad. Enter jumps to the next box, so a whole section takes seconds.

Always shows what's left

Every unit says how many fields are still blank, and one button goes straight to the next one. Nothing gets skipped by accident.

Live math that suggests, never blocks

Superheat and subcooling from pressure and line temperature, for the refrigerant on the nameplate. Voltage imbalance, amps against the nameplate, temperature split. A number that looks off gets a note, never a wall.

Type it once for every unit

Enter the manufacturer on RTU-1 and it offers to fill the other blank RTUs on the job.

Made for the roof

Sun mode

One tap turns the form black on white, with heavier lines and bigger boxes, readable in full sun. The phone remembers it.

A PT chart in the pocket

Ten refrigerants, R-22 to R-454B and R-32. Type a pressure for the saturation temp, or a temp for the pressure. Blends show dew and bubble.

Outdoor temp from the weather

Filled from the weather at the job's address, or the phone's location once the tech allows it, and kept as "from weather".

AI included

One photo of the tag fills the nameplate.

The tech takes one photo. Each field read off the tag is checked against the photo, and anything it is not sure of is left for the tech to confirm. A wrong value is never filled in silently.

  • Read the tagModel, serial, volts, refrigerant and amps: the fields your sheet asks for. A field it cannot read asks for a closer photo of that field alone.
  • AI checks on photos and notesA nameplate photo too blurry to read, a dirty filter, a missing belt guard, notes that say something is still broken on a report marked complete.
  • Your own rules, in plain words"The photos show the disconnect with its cover closed." Checked on every report, as a suggestion.

Included in every plan, with AI tag reads every month (one per unit, however many photos it takes): 3,000 on Crew, 10,000 on Company, 30,000 on Business. Need more? Pay as you go, $1 per 100 tag reads, up to a ceiling you set. See pricing.

The Checks console

Every automatic check, under your control.

StartupSend checks readings as they go in: superheat and subcooling, volts and imbalance, amps against the nameplate, air and water against design, gas and combustion. Your company decides which checks run, at what limits, on which equipment.

  • Turn any check off, or move its limits
  • Point a check at the equipment or the readings it is for
  • Add your own checks for your company's standards
  • Try it first: type readings and watch the checks answer
  • On from day one: only the checks that are accurate and worth hearing

Every check says why it is on and where its limits come from. They suggest; they never block. The tech on the roof decides.

Real outcomes

Not every startup ends complete. Every one ends clear.

No boiler water, no power yet, a part on order. The tech says what could not be done today and why, and the visit ends the way it really ended. Nothing is made to look finished.

  • Complete

Every reading in and signed on the phone. The report is ready for review or to send.

  • Partial, come back

A part that cannot be done today keeps its reason and what was typed, and stops counting as blank until the tech does it.

  • Complete, with open issues

The startup is done, but something is wrong that someone must fix. The issue is noted on the unit, not lost in a text.

The job's Come back for list

Every partial visit and open issue on the job, on the tech's phone in one list, each with its reason. The next trip to the site starts there.

  • WSHP-3Heating: No boiler water yet
  • EF-1Open issues: belt guard missing
  • RTU-4Economizer: Waiting on parts or repair

For everyone on the job

Each person sees only what they need.

Field techs get the simplest screen. The office gets the whole job at a glance. The Cx provider gets a review link, with no account to make.

Field techs

Today's units, and the next blank

No menus to learn. Pick the unit, fill it, mark it complete. Their name and the date fill themselves.

How the field form works

The office

The whole job, like a spreadsheet

Paste the equipment list from Excel, watch every unit's status, and send the set when it's ready.

What the office gets

The Cx provider

Review it without an account

Open the link, comment on any reading, then approve it or send it back for fixes.

For commissioning providers

AI assistant connector (Claude or ChatGPT)

Ask Claude or ChatGPT about your jobs. It answers from StartupSend.

Connect StartupSend to Claude or ChatGPT once, then ask in plain words: what is left on a job, add the units from an equipment list, fill in readings from your notes. It works as you, with only what your role can see and do.

  • Find projects and units, see what is left and who changed what
  • Start a project, add units, fill readings, mark a report complete
  • A field tech's assistant cannot approve; an admin's can manage the team
  • Nothing is deleted, and PDFs still go out from StartupSend itself
  • Every change says which app made it: "(via Claude)" or "(via ChatGPT)"

Set up in a minute from the Company page: copy the address into Claude's connectors, or into ChatGPT's (Settings, Apps and connectors, with Developer mode on), and sign in.

Template library

A startup sheet for every unit on the job.

Built from manufacturer startup instructions and what commissioning providers ask for. Readings first, checklists second. Use them as they are, or change any field to match your own sheets.

Start from components

For a custom unit, pick the parts it is made of and get the whole sheet: 81 components, from fans, compressors and coils to heat sections, energy recovery, air treatment, safeties and hydronics.

More trades, one library

Built for HVAC startups first. The first plumbing sheets are in: water heaters, booster pumps, sump and sewage ejectors. Electrical and specialty systems come next.

Why it exists

“I review startup reports for a living. The ones that come back half-filled aren't from lazy techs. They're from paper.”

“So we made the phone easier than the clipboard.”
